JUNE 29-AUGUST 7 | 6-WEEK PROGRAM Ages: 9-18 years Bayer Ballet’s Virtual Summer Intensive is where serious dancers come to refine their technique and artistry, while discovering opportunities to take their dancing to the next level. An artfully-rigorous curriculum, presenting Vaganova technique in its purest form, is delivered by internationally-acclaimed Bayer Ballet Faculty & Guest Instructors.  PROGRAM

  • Russian Vaganova Ballet Technique

  • Classical Ballet Repertoire

  • Character/Historical Dance

  • Stretching and Conditioning

  • Contemporary Dance

  • Pointe / Pre-Pointe

  • Variations

  • Demonstration, presented by participants, on the final day of the intensive.

This intensive will be held simultaneously, in-studio and virtually. ​SPACE is LIMITED for in-studio (Bayer Ballet Studios, Mountain View, CA) participation, as required to meet safety and health requirements of local county and government guidelines and protocols. The virtual portion of the intensive is held via Zoom. ​ SCHEDULE

  • Group 1 (ages 9-10): Mon-Fri, 9:00-2pm

  • Group 2 (ages 11-12): Mon-Fri, 9am-2:15pm

  • Group 3 (ages 13-14): Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm

  • Group 4 (ages 15+): Mon-Fri, 10am-3pm

Vegh, former co-director of Harkness House in New York City.

SUMMER INTENSIVE PERFORMANCE

Due to current restrictions, participants will present a demonstration via Zoom on the final day of the intensive. Excerpts from last year's Summer Intensive Performance are enclosed below.

Bayer Ballet's Summer Intensive 2019 Performance "The Class Concert," a work is based on the graduation performance of the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy, School of Classical Ballet. In this piece, dancers, of various ages and stages of their training, demonstrate the progression across various levels within the Vaganova System.

Bayer Ballet's Summer Intensive 2019 Performance An excerpt from "The Young Lady and the Hooligan" ballet is an example of the acting skills and mime curriculum, integral to the Vaganova training, through which dancers are taught how to effectively communicate with the audience.
