Bayer Ballet’s Summer Intensive is where serious dancers come to refine their technique and artistry, while discovering opportunities to take their dancing to the next level.  An artfully-rigorous curriculum, presenting Vaganova technique in its purest form, is delivered by an internationally-acclaimed faculty.

VIDEO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (6-WEEK SI) 

>> Complete the application form below

>> Short Introduction including: name, age, number of years of dance education, number of years of pointe work (if applicable), and name of your current school and teacher(s).

>> Barre and center exercises: plié, battement tendu, adagio, pirouettes, petit, medium, and grand allegro, tours en l'air for men, and pointe work for women. A classical ballet variation on pointe is optional.

Intensive culminates in studio demonstration.

The 6-week intensive will consist of levels.  Students will be assigned according to age & ability:

  • Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm Group 1 

  • Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm Group 2

  • Mon-Fri, 10:30am-6:30pm Group 3

  • Mon-Fri, 10:30am-6:30pm Group 4

Intensive culminates in professionally-staged theatre production of Coppelia.  Performances on August 5-6 at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Founder & Artistic Director, International St. Petersburg Dance Open Ballet Festival and St. Petersburg Dance Open Award. President and and Chairman of the Petipa Heritage Foundation.

PERFORMANCE & CHOREOGRAPHY

Since 1989, Vasily collaborated as a dancer and choreographer with various theatres and companies in Russia and abroad and was invited to prestigious events such as “World Ballet Festival” (Donetsk, Ukraine), “World Stars Gala” (Minsk, Belarus), “Stars of St.Petersburg Ballet” (USA), “Notte di Stelle” (Cagliari, Italy), “Gala International” (Estonia, Lithuania), “Y.Makhalina and Stars of St.Petersburg Ballet” (Argentina, Costa Rica), “Stars of St.Petersburg Ballet” (USA).

Among Mr. Medvedev's works is more than 50 titles created for Russian and international audience theatres for the major ballet companies, including Esmeralda from the Bolshoi Ballet.  Companies include:

Bolshoi Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin,Lithuanian National Ballet, Compañía Nacional de Danza in Mexico, Czech National Ballet, Croatian National Ballet, Romanian National Opera, Slovak National Ballet, National Ballet of Panama, Macedonian National Ballet, National Ballet of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Theatre Lodz, etc.
